Article Outline

Atrial fibrillation is the commonest arrhythmia seen in clinical medicine. Knowledge regarding its management continues to evolve. One of the important advances is the role of cardiac imaging in managing the recent advances.

Under the leadership of Professor Bax, the Leiden University has emerged as one of the leaders in the field. In their article, they have provided a comprehensive review of various imaging techniques in the arena of clinical management of patients with atrial fibrillation.

The Editorial board and I are grateful to them for this excellent contribution and to Masood Akhtar, MD for his comments.

  •  Masood Akhtar, MD, is Clinical Professor, Madison University of Wisconsin, School of Medicine and Public Health, Madison, Wisconsin.
