Foreword

Article Outline

Medicine, and especially cardiovascular medicine, has been blessed in the last half century with the availability of a large number of pharmaceutical agents that work and have beneficial effects in alleviating symptoms, improving patients' health and outcomes, and improving survival. However, almost all of them have side effects and, in selected instances, when combined with other drugs, can even have disastrous consequences.

In this issue, Drs. Faulx and Francis present an extensive review of adverse drug reactions in a large number of cardiovascular disorders, including coronary artery disease, hypertension, heart failure, and abnormalities of cardiac rhythm. This is an extremely important topic and their contribution is excellent, authoritative, and comprehensive and has 282 references.

This article is of great importance for all physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

The Editorial Board and I are grateful to them for this superb contribution.
