Foreword
Article Outline
A large number of advances in medicine have resulted in more and more women with cardiovascular disease who are experiencing pregnancy. They and their families have concerns about the problems that relate to both the patient and the fetus. Thus, cardiologists have to be knowledgeable about these problems and also need to know about the diagnostic and the treatment options.
Drs. Hameed and Slansky have prepared an exhaustive review that includes 224 references. The Editorial Board and I are grateful to Drs. Hameed and Slansky for this important article.
Dr. Roberta Williams⁎ has provided an Introduction and Drs. Heidi Connolly† and Patrick W. O’Leary‡ have provided comments; we are also very grateful to all three for their most valuable contributions.
